Situation in Haïti

Haiti is currently facing   various complicated situations such as social, political and economical.

January 12, 2010, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake devastated the country and especially the area of  Gressier, Port-au-Prince, Leogane, Carrefour, Petion-Ville, Delmas, Tabarre, Cité Soleil, Petit-Goave, Grand-Goave, Jacmel, Miragoane and Anse-à-Veau.

The earthquake destroyed almost all the remained of the country’s infrastructure.

More than eighteen months later, the country has still not recovered from this tragedy that caused close to 300,000 deaths and made more than a million people homeless, still living in tents today.
During the month of October, Haiti was hit by a hurricane named Tomas, which has made more than 30 dead and caused considerable material losses. This has weakened even further the country’s structures already in poor condition and the situation of displaced like the homeless has not changed at this time.

Despite of aids promised to Haiti, the survival of the people living in the villages further back is becoming more and more critical.
